Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko is launching the Kapwa Letter to Patient Contest where high school students can have the chances of winning prizes from the Foundation at the same time upholding the Foundation's purpose – that is to give hope to and sympathize with people facing health and medical challenges.
Objectives
The objectives of this contest are as follows:
1. Instill in the youth the importance of helping others and being an instrument of hope and inspiration to the vulnerable.
2. Inspire Kapwa patients through the messages from letter senders.

Values or Lessons Learned by the Letter Sender - 40%
Public voting (via Facebook) - 20%

Contest Mechanics
- All high school students are eligible to join the contest.
- Students who want to join the contest should choose one patient from among those aired by the Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko on GMA 7. They should address the letter (i.e. Dear John, Dear Irish, etc.) to the patient of their choice. Click here to see the videos.
- Each student is allowed to submit only one entry in this contest.
- Entries should be in Microsoft Word format, single-spaced, Arial 11. The length should be limited to one page (short / 8.5 x 11 in).
- Entries should be emailed to kapwa.newmedia@gmail.com or through using the form below on or before 30 September 2011. Participants will be notified of receipt via the Kapwa Facebook (so like the page to get notified).
- Entries may be written in either English or Filipino, and must be an original work.
- All entries will be converted to JPEG format and uploaded in an “Official KKMK-Letter to Patient Contest” album in the Kapwa Facebook. Photo likes will be one of the criteria in selecting the winning letter.
- There will be 10 winners in this contest. The first three will win cash prize and receive a certificate, while each of the other seven winners will receive a token and certificate from KKMK. The prizes are as follows: 1st is Php 5,000.00; 2nd is PhP 3,000; and 3rd is PhP 2,000.
- Winners will be notified via Facebook, SMS or telephone, and/ or email. The Kapwa Office will coordinate with the winners on how they can claim their prizes.
